The Casa de las Magnolias Book
Two years ago, I met Cecilia. We immediately hit it off, as she is from Buenos Aires and I spent a lot of time there a few years ago.
She asked me if I’d consider writing a book about her home, Casa de las Magnolias, a sprawling La Jolla estancia overlooking the Pacific.
I said yes and assembled a team of talented folks to help with the design, photography, and editing. Cecilia and I chatted for many hours about her life in the estancia — designing it, living in it, raising her children in it with her husband, Santiago. I wove our conversations into a story, oversaw a three-day photo shoot, and supervised production of the entire project from the first word to the last page.
In the end, Casa de las Magnolias is a beautiful 100-page, 20,000-word hardcover book about the story of Cecilia and her husband settling in San Diego, building this masterpiece of a home from scratch, and filling it with treasures and family memories. So many fun stories.
I’d love to make more of these books. If you have a home that’s filled with stories, please send me a DM or email to say hello.
